Notes: Eagles Moving On From Baker

The Eagles announced that they will not be bringing Dan Baker back as public address announcer this season.

“Dan is the ultimate professional and even though he was disappointed with the direction we are heading, he was accepting of our decision to make the change,” said team president Don Smolenski. “We are very appreciative of his dedication and service. He never missed a single game.”

Baker has been the Eagles’ public address announcer since 1985. He remains in that role for the Phillies.

“I want to thank Mr. Lurie, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the fans for the privilege of announcing 29 great years of Eagles football,” said Baker. “It has truly been an honor.”

The Eagles will begin a search for a new public address announcer with the help of an outside agency.

“As the game day experience continues to evolve with expanded audio and visual enhancements, the game-telling experience is no longer the responsibility of a single person.  It is a true multi-media experience,” said Smolenski.

The Eagles will recognize Baker at the season opener against the Jaguars.

“Come get me, please”

Geoff Mosher caught up with a few draft prospects in New York who have been linked to the Eagles.

Sounds like Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has a soft spot for Philly.

In Daniel Jeremiah’s latest mock draft, he has Clinton-Dix falling to the Eagles at 22.
