Philly-Area Studios Streaming at-Home Fitness Classes for Kids
Here's one way to keep your kids active and occupied at home.
We know parents have enough to keep track of, between Zoom schooling and keeping everybody fed. But, sometimes a great online sport or fitness class — like martial arts, kids yoga, or gymnastics — can be an outlet to help your child focus, develop discipline and mindfulness practices, and feel more driven.
These greater Philly-area fitness studios are here to help with just that. Here’s a list of all the local spots offering active online streaming designed specifically for your kids.
Popular kids studio chain Action Karate has taken their martial arts program fully virtual. They are offering live classes for all age groups daily. They also have a great introductory special: three, no-commitment virtual training martial arts classes for kids for $39, including a shipped uniform and their very first belt. Yoga teacher Kayla Ankeny is offering Storytime Yoga classes via Zoom on Wednesdays 9:30-10:15 a.m. These classes are for the whole family. Kayla is charging $5 to $15 via Venmo, PayPal, or CashApp. Find more info and the latest scheduling updates here.
Expert teacher “Yoga Jake” (and his dog, Yoga Louie!) show kids ages 5 through 12 how yoga can give them superpowers — like being “kind, strong, brave, balanced, grounded.” Classes are on Fridays from 10-10:30 a.m. over Zoom on a sliding scale. Find more information here.

Never Give Up in Manayunk is offering a variety of ‘Virtual Parent’ classes. These are parent/child classes for parents with a “baby or toddler running around the house.” Prices vary depending on membership. Find more info here.
Heart & Grit Power Yoga is offering online yoga classes for kids on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am-10:00am. These classes will be offered for free as a community resource. Find more info here.
Mama’s Wellness Joint is offering kids yoga classes on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. for ages 5 to 8, and ‘Mini + Me’ classes (a class for Mom’s with newborns up to age four) Mondays and Fridays at 11:30 a.m. Prices vary. Find more info here.
We Are Legend Martial Arts and Fitness is offering various classes throughout the week for age groups 3 to 6, 7 to 9, and 10 to 12. And, they are currently offering a $49 introductory special, which includes a month of unlimited classes and a uniform. Find detailed scheduling information here.
Jackie Leck of “Learning & Yoga with Jackie” is offering kid’s yoga mini-classes on Facebook and Instagram Live for free at 4:00pm on Mondays. Find more info here.

Fitness trainer and dietician Beth Auguste is offering virtual fitness classes for adults with kids via Zoom on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and Thursdays at 4:30 p.m., for parents short on time who want to get active while watching their at-home kids. InMovement Gymnastics Education is offering at-home classes ranging from 30 to 45 minutes. Classes included are Parent Child (ages 10 to 35 months), Pre-K Gym (ages 3 to 5 years), Pre-K Ninja (ages 3 to 5), and Gym Fit (ages K through 8th grade). Goals Fit offers virtual classes for kids, including their “Kids Virtual Gym Class.” One-class free trials and various pricing options are offered, and in May they’re running a $40 virtual running and training program for kids, including contests, a hard copy of the schedule with stickers, a race medal, and a race bib!
