Well, here’s an unexpected pair: Local vegan chef Christina Pirello of Christina Cooks is teaming up with Frank Olivieri, owner of Pat’s King of Steaks, for a Spring Feast vegan pop-up lunch at South Philly’s Caffe Valentino this Sunday, April 3rd. And yes, there will be vegan cheesesteaks.

The BYOB, four-course lunch will run you $49 per person (including tax and tip), and you’ll get a very spring-y assortment of foods, including spring split pea soup, spring salad, carrot cake pops, and — drumroll, please — a trio of sliders, including a vegan cheesesteak that Pirello and Olivieri will create together.

As Pirello explains, “Frankie will be guest chef-ing on our vegan cheesesteak sandwich as he and I joke around in the kitchen. We are an unlikely, but very funny pair.” I feel like there’s a lesson here, right? You can learn more about the April Fools-themed lunch and reserve your spot here.
