Philly-area yogis will be mighty busy (and tan!) with this summer’s lineup of outdoor yoga classes. From waterfront options in the city to wine-and-yoga events in the ‘burbs to on-the-sand classes down the Shore, we’ve got plenty of al freso yoga options to keep you more than occupied.

Outdoor Yoga Classes in Philadelphia

Yoga on the Pier
Where: Race Street and North Columbus Boulevard, Delaware Riverfront.
When: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.; Friday at 7 a.m.; Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

Instructors from Dhyana Yoga run these breezy, waterfront classes in the shadow of the Ben Franklin Bridge. The series runs through November 1st. Free.

Yoga on the Banks
Where: 25th and Locust, Schuylkill Banks Park.
When: Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m.; Tuesday at 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

These hourlong classes, run by four local yogis, take place at the edge of the Schyulkill River. The classes are suitable for all levels and participants are encouraged to pay what they wish. Donations accepted.

Rooftop Yoga at Whole Foods South Street
Where: 929 South Street, Bella Vista.
When: Thursdays at 10 a.m.

Whole Foods has teamed up with its neighbor, the Yoga Garden, for all-levels rooftop yoga classes on the second floor of the parking lot. Sunglasses are recommended. Call Whole Foods Customer Service (215-733-9788) for weather updates. Free.

Yoga at the Oval
Where: Eakins Oval, Philadelphia Museum of Art, 2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Fairmount.
When: Wednesdays at 6 p.m., July 15th through August 12th.

The soon-to-open Fairmount yoga studio, Yoga Habit, is hosting these classes. Owner Jen Wendowski will lead these once-a-week classes beginning in July. You can grab snacks at the food trucks and hang out in the beer garden following class. Free.

Where: 121 North Columbus Boulevard, Delaware Riverfront.
When: Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays (time varies each week, depending on the tides), June 17th through September 26th.

SUP yoga — yes, yoga on a paddleboard floating on the Delaware River — returns to Spruce Street Harbor Park this summer, courtesy of AquaVida. $45 with board rental or $30 if you bring your own board.

Yoga at Franklin Square
Where: 200 6th Street, Franklin Square.
When: June 6th, July 8th, August 5th, September 2nd at 6:30 p.m.

Pop Up Yoga Philly hosts these once-a-month classes at Franklin Square. All levels are welcome. $15.

Yoga at Philadelphia Magic Gardens
Where: 1020 South Street, Bella Vista.
When: May 21st, June 25th, July 23rd and September 24th at 6:30 p.m.

Another class with Pop Up Yoga Philly. These take place at the mosaic art gallery-like garden on South Street. $15.

Yoga at Fairmount Water Works
Where: 640 Water Works Drive, Art Museum.
When: June 19th and August 21st at 6 p.m.

Twice this summer, Pop Up Yoga Philly will turn up at the Water Works pavilion overlooking the Schuylkill River. Access it easily via the Schuylkill River Trail. $15.

Vino and Vinyasa at Valley Green
Where: Valley Green Inn, Valley Green Road and Forbidden Drive, Wissahickon Valley Park.
When: May 26th, June 30th, July 21st, August 11th and September 8th at 6 p.m.

These 60-minute yoga classes take place in the restaurant’s pretty outdoor pavilion. A wine happy hour follows. $15.

Yoga in the Garden at Morris Arboretum
Where: 100 East Northwestern Avenue, Chestnut Hill.
When: Tuesdays at 7 p.m., June 2nd through August 4th.

This 10-session series takes place in gorgeous Morris Arboretum, led by well-known local yogi Jennifer Schelter. Class packages only: 10 classes for $200 or five for $120.

Yoga Out on a Limb at Morris Arboretum
Where: 100 East Northwestern Avenue, Chestnut Hill.
When: Sundays at 8:30 a.m., June 14th, July 12th, August 9th and September 13th.

Another Jennifer Shelter-led class, this one takes place 50 feet in the air in the arboretum’s tree canopy. The class is suitable for all levels, but it’s capped at 30 participants. $25 per session or $80 for all four.

Yoga in the Courtyard
Where: Oxford Mills, 100 West Oxford Street, South Kensington.
When: Saturdays at 9:30 a.m., May 30th through August 29th.

Instructors at Grace & Glory Yoga will be taking their Saturday morning classes outdoors to the courtyard at Oxford Mills. Gryphon Cafe will be offering discounted coffee treats to yogis after class. Free.

Yoga in the Cemetery
Where: Laurel Hill Cemetery, 3822 Ridge Avenue, East Falls.
When: One Saturday and one Wednesday a month, May 27th through September 12th. Saturday classes are at 10 a.m. and Wednesday classes are at 6:30 p.m.

Yogi Emily Golomb from Studio 1831 will teach Hatha yoga classes in the cemetery two days a month this summer. Classes conclude with light refreshments. Meet at the cemetery’s Gatehouse entrance; free parking is available. $20.

Yoga at League Island Park
Where: League Island Park, the Navy Yard.
When: Mondays in June from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Every monday throughout the month of June, Nava Yoga hosts an hourlong, BYOM, sunrise yoga class open to all levels. Free.

Yoga at Penn Treaty Park
Where: 341 North Delaware Avenue, Fishtown.
When: Fridays at 4 p.m. from June 5th through August 30th.

Every Friday throughout the summer, the folks from Fishtown’s Pacific Yoga will be hosting an hourlong, pay-what-you-wish, BYOM yoga class open to all levels at Penn Treaty Park. Pay what you wish. 

Yoga at Liberty Lands Park
Where: 3rd and Wildey Streets, Northern Liberties.
When: Sundays at 9 a.m. from June 5th through August 30th.

And if you can’t make it to the Friday class mentioned above, instructors from Pacific Yoga will almost be hosting the same deal (hourlong, pay-what-you-wish, BYOM) at Liberty Lands park on Sunday mornings throughout the summer. Pay what you wish. 

Yoga with Be Well Philly 
Where: Comcast Center Outdoor Plaza, Center City.
When: Tuesdays at 6 p.m. from July 7th through August 25th.

Outdoor Yoga Classes in the Pennsylvania Suburbs

Rooftop Yoga at Whole Foods Plymouth Meeting
Where: 500 West Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting Mall.
When: Saturdays at 9 a.m., May 23rd through September 5th.

Local yogi and Yoga Home co-ower Maura Manzo returns to the rooftop at Whole Foods Plymouth Meeting. The class is appropriate for all levels. $5 (cash at the door).

Yoga at Sutcliffe Park
Where: Ninth Avenue and Freedly Street, Conshohocken.
When: Wednesdays at 7 a.m., May 27th through September 2nd.

Start your Humpday off on the right foot with this all-levels, beginner-friendly class at Sutcliffe Park. Kerri Hanlon from Yoga Home will lead. Meet at the basketball courts. $5.

Yoga at Maple Acres Farm
Where: 2656 Narcissi Road, Plymouth Meeting.
When: Thursdays at 6 p.m., May 28th through September 3rd.

The farm is your backdrop for this all-levels al fresco class, led by Yoga Home’s Katie Freed. $5.

Yoga at Plymouth Swim Club
Where: 724 Gallagher Road, Plymouth Meeting.
When: Tuesdays at 6 p.m., June 2nd through September 1st.

No need to be a member of this swim club to take part in this all-levels yoga class. The evening sessions will be run by Allison Gold Russell of Yoga Home. $5.

Yoga in the Vineyard at Penns Woods Winery
Where: Penns Woods Winery, 124 Beaver Valley Road, Chadds Ford.
When: Ten Sundays at 11 a.m. through October (check the schedule for dates), and Friday, August 14th and September 18th at 6 p.m.

Yoga + wine = bliss. Chadds Ford’s Penns Woods Winery hosts Sunday morning and Friday evening yoga-and-wine-tasting classes that include 60 minutes of yoga in the vines, a five-wine tasting with snacks, and discounts on wine purchases. $35.

Yoga at Narberth Park
Where: 131 North Narberth Avenue, Narberth.
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 a.m., May 19th through August 6th.

Get some sunshine at this outdoor class in the ‘burbs, led by The Yoga Garden Narberth. A handful of mats to borrow will be provided, but bring your own if you can. In the event of rain, the class moves to the studio. $16.

Yoga and Wine in Kennett Square
Where: Galer Estate Vineyard and Winery, 700 Folly Hill Road, Kennett Square.
When: Sundays at 12 p.m., May 17th through September 6th.

Instructors from Brandywine Yoga lead this in-the-vineyard class, which includes an hourlong yoga class followed by a five-wine tasting with light food. Classes are limited to 15 participants, so sign up in advance. $35.

Yoga Happy Hour at King of Prussia Business Park
Where: 1000 First Avenue, King of Prussia.
When: Tuesdays at 5:15 p.m. through July.

Instructor’s from KOP’s Stillpoint yoga studios teach an bring-your-own-mat yoga class, followed by a healthy happy hour, catered by Wegmans. Free.

Outdoor Yoga Classes in South Jersey

Yoga on the Camden Waterfront
Where: Wiggins Park Marina, Martin Luther King Boulevard and Riverside Drive, Camden.
When: Select Thursdays at 6 p.m.: June 4th, 11th and 18th, July 2nd and 9th, and August 13th.

Instructors from several Camden-area yoga studios will lead these 60-minute waterfront classes. Parking is available. Free.

Outdoor Yoga South Jersey
Where: Cooper River Park, Haddon Lake Park and Smithville Park.
When: Saturday, May 23rd and 30th at 9 a.m. (Cooper); Saturday, June 6th, 20th and 27th at 9:30 a.m. (Haddon), and Saturday, July 11th, 18th and 25th at 9:30 a.m. (Smithville).

This nomadic yoga series parks it in South Jersey parks throughout the summer. Classes are open to all levels. Pre-registration is required. $14.

Yoga at Pratt Gardens
Where: 158 County Home Road, Woodstown.
When: Mondays at 7 p.m.

Instructors from Bee Inspired Yoga run this class every week. It’s one hour long and open to all levels. $10.

Beach Yoga in Sea Isle
Where: JFK Boulevard Beach, Sea Isle.
When: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30 a.m.

If you’re heading down the Shore this summer, be sure to pack your yoga mat. (A beach towel will work, too.) These 75-minute morning sessions are the perfect way to begin a beach day. $10.
