UPDATE 2:51 p.m.:

ORIGINAL POST: Just a quick PSA to help you avoid running-route snafus this week: The Schuylkill River Development Corporation has announced that the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk will be closed for a few days this week while a pair of pergolas are installed.

Here’s the announcement from the Schuylkill Banks website:

SRDC is pleased to announce that it has been able to secure funding for two pergolas for the Boardwalk. …We anticipate delivery of materials on Tuesday, 12/16 or Wednesday, 12/17 between 9:30am and 1:30pm.

Because of the nature of the unloading process, the Boardwalk will be closed during this delivery window and possibly for several more days while erection of the steel framing is underway. The Boardwalk will only be closed while active work is underway, and will be re-opened to traffic at the end of each work day.

We are sorry for this inconvenience, but are confident that the addition of these features will make the short closures worthwhile! Please check our Facebook and Twitter pages for updates in the coming weeks.
