Two new locations of the Portland-based barre-studio franchise, Barre3, are opening in our area next month. This will make four total Barre3 outposts for the region, with the first two located in Berwyn and Newtown.

Barre3’s new Doylestown studio opens on October 6th, and the Rosemont studio on October 13th. Both will be running a week (!) of free classes for you to test them out. The Doylestown schedule is here and the Rosemont schedule is here.

Classes run 60 minutes and entail sequences of three kinds of muscle-taxing movements: isometrics (holds), controlled micro-movements and sweeping dynamic movements (cardio). The idea is to get your muscles completely and totally exhausted. And of course, you use the ballet barre, straps and squishy balls for balance and resistance. Classes are done in bare feet or with grippy socks.

The Doylestown studio is located at the Shoppes at Blueberry Hill (1721 South Easton Road) and the Rosemont studio is at 1149 West Lancaster Avenue.
