Awesome: Two Guys Will Bike Philly’s 72-Mile Border This Weekend

Hidden City Philadelphia has the scoop this week on two intrepid locals who plan to bike the City of Philadelphia’s border this weekend—all 72 miles of it. Local market researcher/triathlete Shawn McKenna concocted the idea one day while sitting around during jury duty. He enlisted a friend, James Huth, to take on the challenge with him this weekend.

They’ve mapped out a route (check it out here) that’s pretty close to the actual boundary lines. They had to plan in some detours for sections of road where bikes aren’t allowed (Interstate 95 to the south, for example).

So why, exactly, is he doing it? “It seemed pretty neat,” he told Hidden City. That’s good enough for me.
