CHOP Named Top Children’s Hospital by U.S. News

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia received high marks in 10 specialties.

We love when Philly’s amazing medical community gets some national attention. This week’s kudos go to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, which tied for first place in U.S. News & World Report’s annual ranking of the best children’s hospitals in the country. Editors organized the list by speciality—ranking the top 50 hospitals in everything from cancer to nephrology to urology—but also included an Honor Roll, naming the hospitals with high scores in at least three specialities. CHOP tied with Boston Children’s Hospital for the top honors.

In fact, CHOP landed first-place rankings in five specialities in all: cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, pulmonology and urology. It placed within the top five in five other specialty categories.

Nemours/Alfred. I duPont Hospital for Children was also one of the 80 hospitals recognized on the list. It ranked for expertise in nine specialities, including neonatology, cancer and heart surgery. It’s highest ranking was for orthopedics, where it landed in seventh place.
