A 52-year old Philadelphia man has been arrested in connection with the September stabbing homicide at a Center City bus stop.

Reginald Bell is charged with murder and other offenses in the September 24th slaying of William Vaughn. Vaughn, 47, of West Philly, had reportedly accompanied his girlfriend to the bus stop on the southeast corner of Broad and Arch streets early that morning when he got into an argument with someone else at that location.

Vaughn was stabbed in the chest. He was taken to Hahnemann Hospital, and pronounced dead. Police in November offered a $20,000 reward for information that would help them solve the murder.

The incident occurred just when Center City was being closed off for the visit of Pope Francis, but authorities quickly dispelled the idea that Vaughn’s death was in any related to the World Meeting of Families weekend.

Philly Police said that Bell was arrested Nov. 23rd by SEPTA police conducting a “pedestrian investigation;” further details were unavailable, including why the arrest wasn’t publicized until now. A police spokesman did not know if the $20,000 reward would be claimed.
