Mark Your Calendars: Our First Philly 10K Pop-Up Training Run Is Next Monday!

And it's going to be a blast.

Calling all Philly 10K runners! We’ll be posting your official Philly 10K 10-Week Training Plan on Monday (so stay tuned for that), but the most important thing for you to know right now is that your training kicks off with a two-mile pop-up run with us next Monday, June 22nd!

We’re teaming up with folks from the Philly 10K and New Balance to host four sweet training runs throughout the summer to beer gardens all around the city. Because what better incentive sweat your face off than beer? (Spoiler alert: There is no better incentive.)

Our first run, happening Monday, June 22nd, will be a two-ish-mile run from the Philadelphia Runner store at 16th and Sansom Street to Summerfest on the Delaware River Waterfront where drink specials will be waiting for us. Monday July 13th, we’ll be running to Independence Beer Garden in Old City, on August 3rd, we’ll be pounding the pavement to the the Philadelphia Horticultural Society’s pop-up beer garden at 9th and Wharton Streets in South Philly, and on August 28th, we’ll take a short jaunt over to the Philly 10K’s Bibs and Beers kick-off party at Headhouse Shambles.

We’ll meet for each run at Philadelphia Runner’s 16th and Sansom Store at 6 p.m., and anyone and everyone is welcome to join in on the fun, whether you’re running the Philly 10K or not, and regardless of your pace. There’s no need to sign up ahead of time and the runs are totally free. The only thing that’ll cost you is a nice cold beer at the finish line. And spread the word, people! The more, the merrier.

So remember: Don’t make plans for Monday night — you’re hanging out with us. And make sure to check back in on Monday morning to see the full Philly 10K training plan.
