Number of Students: Total enrollment for 9th through 12th grades; some schools are 10th through 12th.
Percent to College: Percentage of graduates attending a 2- or 4-year college.
SAT (CR/M/W): Average scores in SAT critical reading, math and writing exams.
PSSA/HSPA (R/M): Percentage of students graded proficient or above in the state standardized PSSA (PA) or HSPA (NJ) tests in reading and math; because the tests are scored differently, the figures are not directly comparable between the states.

“Valley of darkness”… sounds like a good term to describe the recent performances of Kevin Kolb.

The problem that I have with the ratings is the fact that the private and parochial schools are not admitted into the mix which are schools that traditionally score higher than the public schools. This will give the public school students and their parents a false sense of achievement. Of course the administrators, especially the superintendents of high scoring districts will have their chests swell out with pride, while along they know the truth which will become apparent to their students when they, sooner than later, compete with there private school kids in the job market.

think about moving to Philly any school suggestions?
