Music: 6 Shows to See in Philly This Week

Are you in the mood for The Go-Go’s farewell beat or Hamilton’s Leslie Odom Jr.?

The Go-Go's

The Go-Go’s

Boys Like Girls @ The Fillmore | Wednesday, August 10
Pop-rock band Boys Like Girls is marking the 10th anniversary of the group’s self-titled debut by playing it in its entirety.

Leapling @ Space 1026 | Wednesday, August 10
I didn’t want to crowd too much in the headline, but this show features four separate musicians/bands: Leapling, Zula, Joy Again and Mich Laggi. They all have kind of an alterna-pop sound.

The Go-Go’s @ The Fillmore | Thursday, August 11
This may be your last chance ever to see Belinda Carlisle and crew perform together: It’s the Go-Go’s farewell tour. Best Coast and Kaya Stewart open.

Halsey @ Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing | Thursday, August 11
Twitter and Instagram star Halsey has crossed into the mainstream at the ripe old age of 21. She’s touring for her first LP, Badlands, which the New York Times called “a brooding, conceptual electro-pop record with industrial undertones and big radio-ready hooks.”

Leslie Odom Jr. @ Borgata | Saturday, August 13
If you’re down the shore this weekend get tickets to see Leslie Odom Jr., the jazz singer/actor from East Oak Lane who won a Tony award for playing Aaron Burr in Broadway’s Hamilton.

Mad Decent Block Party @ Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing | Saturday, August 13
Philly’s own Diplo heads this touring EDM music fest that started out as an actual block party. The lineup also includes Baauer, Dirty South Joe, Swizzymack, Rich the Kid and more.
