John Mayer and Grateful Dead Members to Perform at Wells Fargo Center

Dead & Company, the four-piece band that comprises three Grateful Dead members and singer/guitarist John Mayer, announced today that they will perform at the Wells Fargo Center this fall.

The show comes on the heels of this summer’s “Fare Thee Well” tour, five sold-out stadium shows celebrating the Dead’s 50th anniversary that brought together four core members, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir. At the end of the tour, Lesh went on to play for his own band, but Hart, Kreutzmann and Weir wanted to stay on the road.

“‘Fare Thee Well’ proved to me that I’m not done exploring new rhythmic territory,” said Kreutzmann in a press release. The threesome enlisted the help of John Mayer to step in on guitar in a string of added-on tour stops that will stretch into the fall. The band will also be joined by Allman Brothers bassist Oteil Burbridge and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti.

“We’re not done with these songs and they’re not done with us,” said Weir in the same release. “We’re gonna take these old friends on some new adventures.”

Dead & Company will perform at Wells Fargo Center on November 5th. Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 28th at 10 am at ComcastTIX.com. Prices range from $100 to $50.
