Jennifer Weiner at the Free Library
The multitalented writer Jennifer Weiner will be at the Free Library on Tuesday to discuss and sign her newest book, Who Do You Love. Weiner is a number one New York Times best selling author who has composed over eleven books and is a regular contributor in the newspaper's op-ed section. Center City Restaurant Week
Dozens of your favorite Center City restaurants are offering special prix-fixe menus during a special summer edition of Center City District Restaurant Week. Select establishments will offer a $20 lunch, while others will serve dinner for $35 per person. Sunday, August 2nd through Friday, August 14th (excluding Saturday, August 8th), various times and locations throughout Philadelphia


Phish at The Mann Center
Last year, Phish played two sold out concerts here in Philly. They're returning this week at the Mann Center for another two shows, and chances are, they'll have the same success as last season. Tuesday, August 11th and Wednesday, August 12th, 7:30 pm, $45-65, Mann Center, 5201 Parkside Avenue


Sittin' In with Kate Faust
This free jam session on Wednesday evening features the super talented Kate Faust bringing a new twist to jazz. Jaws at Fringe Arts
If you're planning a beach day this week, taking in the free screening of Jaws at Fringe Arts may not be the best idea. Vulcan Lyric Summer Festival
The Vulcan Lyric Festival invades the Prince Theatre starting on Thursday for a rotating selection of unique musicals, including Heathers: The Musical (!) and the Philadelphia premiere of Glory Denied. Joshua P. Warren at Barnes and Noble
Author Joshua P. Warren will teach Philadelphia about the Jedi's "Law of Attraction" from his newest book Use the Force. Warren will read and sign his work at Barnes and Noble on Rittenhouse Square, and he hopes Star Wars fans will come out just for the fun of it. Defending the Caveman at Penn's Landing Playhouse
The long-running Broadway play Defending the Caveman returns to Philadelphia at the Penn's Landing Playhouse. Local performer Vince Valentine takes on the comedic one-man show about gender, sex, and relationships, guaranteed to make you laugh in your seat. Erykah Badu at Dell Music Center
The always enchanting, always innovative, Eryka Badu comes to Philly for a one-night only concert at the Dell Music Center. The multi-Grammy Award-winner will surely be singing some tunes to heat up the summer evening. Thursday, August 13th, 7 pm, $25-90, Dell Music Center, 2400 Strawberry Mansion Drive


Philadelphia Folk Festival
Now in its 54th year, the Philadelphia Folk Festival kicks off this Thursday. Dozens and dozens on musical acts, from Lyle Lovett to El Caribefunk, will take to the stage, plus there will be tons of crafts and other vendors to keep you moving to the sound of the beat.
