Philly Judge Denies Meek Mill Early Parole

Looks like Meek Mill will remain behind bars a while longer. The Inquirer reports that Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Genece E. Brinkley denied him parole this afternoon, saying that she didn’t think the Philly-born rapper had changed his ways since she sentenced him in mid-July for violating probation.

“I’m not going to do it,” Brinkley told Mill’s attorney. “I’m not going to have him thumbing his nose at me every time I turn around.”

The ruling says he’ll stay in prison at least until mid-October, and that he may have to serve the original full six-month sentence if he fails to adhere to certain rules she laid out this afternoon.

Mill—whose real name is Robert Williams—is required to complete three prison courses, in anger management, parenting skills, and drug and alcohol counseling.

“If you don’t complete them,” the judge said, “you’ll do the whole six months.”
