HughE Dillon: Celeb Bartenders at R2L
R2L celebrates summer with the launch of its Celebrity Bartending Series, running through mid-September. Kicking things off behind the bar last night was Eagles defensive end Darryl Tapp. One dollar from each drink will be donated to the celebrity’s charity of choice, and guests will be entered to win a celebrity prize pick. Tapp’s charity was Philabundance. Upcoming “celebrity bartenders” will be Stormy Lundy (events coordinator at the Reading Terminal Market) on July 10th. Stan Hochman (Daily News, Comcast Sports, WIP radio) is on tap for July 18th, and Seth Williams (DA) is running the bar on August 8th. Additional celebrities will be added to the lineup throughout the summer including moi, who will be raising money to fight ovarian cancer.
I didn’t think Darryl Tapp’s smile could get any bigger, but when he and his wife Tiffany shared the good news with me that they were going to be parents in November, they were bursting at the seams with joy. Congratulations to them. Tiffany is a professional bodybuilder, and one of Center City’s premier in-home personal trainers. She’s working out and training clients right up until the day she gives birth in November. She tells me that most women benefit greatly from exercising throughout their pregnancies, and that strong muscles and a fit heart can greatly ease labor and delivery. Darryl’s working out every day and getting ready for the 2012 Philadelphia Eagles football season. Eagles Flight Night is just around the corner; that’s when fans of all ages can watch a full team practice at Lincoln Financial Field on August 26th.
