Main Line Monday: Check Out This Bala Cynwyd Colonial
We usually feature ostentatious, extravagant mansions on Main Line Monday. Today, we decided to highlight a more modest house, but a beautiful one nonetheless. This house in Bala Cynwyd is a little more down-to-earth than many we’ve featured here of late. It looks contented, like it knows what it is and isn’t going to try to do anything else. At four bedrooms and 2,279 square feet, it’s simply a nicely sized, charming Colonial.
Outdoors, there’s a manicured front and back yard and a yellow stucco exterior. Indoors, you enter into a large living room with a stone fireplace. Much of the first floor is awash in natural light, as there are countless windows and white walls throughout much of the house. The dining room features a chic chandelier, and in the kitchen, there’s white cabinetry, granite countertops and a breakfast nook carved into one of the walls.
The second floor has three of the four bedrooms, including the master suite. The master bathroom features a frameless shower door and a pedestal sink. The third floor has the final bedroom and a full bath. There’s also a finished basement with a playroom, laundry room and areas for exercise and storage.
Orthodox Jewish house-hunters will appreciate this home’s location within the Lower Merion Eruv. Those looking to put their car use on a diet will appreciate its convenient location: it’s a short walk from the Bala shopping district, Cynwyd Regional Rail station and the Cynwyd Heritage Trail, which opens up the prospect of biking over to Manayunk for dining, shopping and entertainment as well.
