How to Get Married at Philadelphia Sports Wedding Venues

Make your Philly sports wedding dreams come true.

Are you a Philadelphia sports couple? You know, the couple who hosts watch parties on game day and wears matching jerseys to Phillies games? One of you might even have an Jason Kelce tattoo. If this fits you, it’s time to consider turning Philadelphia sports venues into Philadelphia sports wedding venues.

Below you’ll find everything you need to know about getting married at Citizens Bank Park, The Linc, and five more fantastic Philadelphia sports venues. Once you’ve got your venue locked down, head to our wedding vendor directory to round of the rest of the vendors for your Big Day. Want to show your Philadelphia sports pride outside of a stadium? Consider booking a Philadelphia sports mascot to make an appearance on your wedding day.

Home of the Philadelphia Phillies, Citizens Bank Park is the perfect place for true Phanatics to get married. Relive your first date or just spend your special day at the home of your beloved 2008 World Series Champions. One of our favorite parts of this venue are the photo possibilities! You can take pictures on the dugout with the Phanatic, pose with bats at the area where batters on deck warm up, get the groomsmen together in the clubhouse for a photoshoot, and capture your guests cheering from the stands as you present yourselves as newlyweds. If you choose to hold your reception at the Hall of Fame Club, you will have a beautiful view of the field and Center City Philadelphia as an added perk.

Hold your ceremony where Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, and many other baseball greats have stepped foot countless times. With an on-field ceremony option, you’ll truly be able to wow your guests with great scenery and an authentic feel, as they’ll be able to witness the ceremony from the stadium’s seating bowl—in the Diamond Club seating, of course. For the wedding ceremony, packages range from $3,000 to $7,000.  For after the on-field ceremony, there are two popular choices for receptions—the Hall of Fame Club and the Diamond Club. The Hall of Fame Club is perfect for a casual reception.  The space is suitable for around 100 guests, and the rental fees range from $3,000 to $5,000. For a more upscale reception, the Diamond Club is a top-notch reception space. It has a rental fee of $6,000, and you can seat 100-200 guests. If needed, you can hold 500 reception style. For both, catering packages are priced separately.

Lincoln Financial Field

The home of the Super Bowl LII Champions is a Birds fan’s wedding venue dream. Celebrating one of the most important days of your life at one of the most important places in your life just seems right. There are outdoor and indoor event spaces to choose from.

Scheduling conflicts make it difficult to book weddings at Lincoln Financial Field, but it is a possible option upon request (weddings are rare at this venue). Though the stadium has many different event spaces, the TORK Club and the Panasonic Club seem best fit for a wedding. Information on event space options can be found here. Catering can be provided by the venue. Submit a request for catering and venue rates, as well as additional event booking information, here.

Do you and your fiancé(e) DOOP? If the Philadelphia Union goal song is your favorite song, the Talen Energy Stadium is the perfect spot for your Big Day. Weddings hosted at the home of the Philadelphia Union are hosted in the TruMark Financial Stadium Club. Since the TruMark Financial Stadium Club looks over the stadium field, you’ll be treated with breathtaking views of the Delaware River and Commodore Barry Bridge. Can’t forget the photo ops—newlyweds can go down to the field and get their picture taken on the turf, standing in front of the stadium seating. The seating provides a backdrop that is clad in blue and gold, with UNION written in big and bold letters.

This space accommodates up to 250 guests. The rental rate for the space is $2,500 plus catering. The venue prides itself in its catering, as the chefs work to reflect the flavors and authenticity of local restaurants, while also creating a menu to fit each couple’s own personal flare. Choose from buffets, plated dinners, action stations, carving stations, and hors d’oeuvres—whatever fits your style. Catering prices vary, with buffets ranging from $25 to $46 per person and plated dinners priced at $55 per person.

The Palestra

223 S 33rd St, University City

Often called the Cathedral of College Basketball, the Palestra is rich with history. The arena is home to the University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s basketball teams, as well as the Philadelphia Big 5. Since the Big 5’s inception in 1955, most of its matchups have been played at the Palestra. This venue is perfect for the weddings of Big 5 fans and Penn alums alike.

With both bleacher seating and space for floor seating, you have options for how you want your wedding to look. The Palestra is known for its close-to-the-court seating, as the bleachers go right to the floor of the arena. With no barrier between floor and seating, your guests (if you choose for them to sit in the bleachers) will have a great view of the ceremony. If you choose for guests sit in the arena’s seating, you can then move to have the reception on the floor of the arena. Choices!

Completed in 1927, The Palestra has hosted galas, fundraisers, and many other types of events. This space can hold over 1500 people for a ceremony and 500 for a seated event. The rental cost for the Palestra is $8,000 for the day.

235 South 33rd Street, University City

Scheduling conflicts may make it difficult to book your Big Day at the current home of the Eagles, but what about the past home of the Eagles? Or the setting of Penn Relays, the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States? Or maybe you went to the University of Pennsylvania, and met your soulmate at a football game at Franklin Field. Any of the above are great reasons to hold your wedding at this historic football stadium.

This venue is one full of history. Franklin Field is the oldest stadium still operating in Football, as well as the site of the nation’s first scoreboard, stadium seats with an upper deck, and radio broadcast of a football game. Besides sporting events, Franklin Field hosts concerts, Relay for Life, and commencements, making it more than capable to host your Big Day. The rental cost for Franklin Field is $8,000 for the day.

The Liacouras Center

1776 North Broad St, North Philadelphia

This one’s for you, Temple grads! While Temple football battles it out at Lincoln Financial Field, the men’s and women’s basketball teams call the Liacouras Center home. If you’ve been yelling ‘S’go Owls’ your whole life, this setting is perfect for your Big Day. The venue is located less than two miles from Philadelphia’s City Hall, which is a great place to take weddings pictures.

Although weddings are not common at the Liacouras Center, the venue’s Director of Events says it is possible. Many graduations and similar events have been held here, so ‘Temple Made’ couples could pull it off. Get in touch with the Liacouras Center here.

Beaver Stadium

This spot is not in Philly, but there are sure a lot of Penn Staters in the region. If you know someone who went to Penn State, you know they went to Penn State. PSU fans probably have (almost) as much pride as Birds fans, so we get it. Beaver Stadium, home to the university’s football team, is an amazing stadium. It is the second largest in the nation and ranks third in the world! If you’re one of those PSU couples, this venue can be your dream come true. With background options like the PSU scoreboard or the student section (where you may have met your fiancé) you’ll be showing off your wedding day snapshots for years. Access to the stands allows you to recreate and create some great memories, like singing “Sweet Caroline” or chanting the “We Are!” chant with your loved ones.

Although you can’t get married right on the field where Saquon Barkley made his namesake, the stadium has four event rooms to choose from. Choose the one that fits your wedding vision: The Letterman’s Lounge has a capacity for 72 guests. This lounge is a popular gathering place for former football players and their families on game day. It has high top tables and furniture, with a buffet line option (built-in). This event room is $3,750. The Recruit’s Lounge is the next option, which has a capacity of 150 guests and tables with five chairs at each. This space also has a $3,750 rate. Or, hold 100 guests in the President’s Suite & Lounge! For $6,000, you can host guests for cocktail rounds and mingling, with stadium seating and built-in buffets. Although the Mt. Nittany Club space is not recommended for dinner seating, you can have your friends and family gather after the ceremony for cocktails. While enjoying cocktail hour, you will enjoy incredible views of Mt. Nittany itself. Room rental is $7,500. Additional fees may apply for stadium use.
