Problem: You want to look fancy throughout the getting-married process, but you don’t want to break the budget on wardrobe — or book the same Rent the Runway options as everybody else. Solution: Borrow from one of these chic under-the-radar services instead.

Want to show up to the rehearsal dinner looking like you just walked off a red carpet? This NYC upstart stocks statement gowns from celeb-loved labels like Brock Collection, Johanna Ortiz, Naeem Khan and Brandon Maxwell and will pair you with a stylist to help you brainstorm the perfect accessories.

Style Lend

If Shopbop favorites like Self Portrait, Zimmermann and For Love & Lemons are more your vibe, try your chances with Style Lend, a peer-to-peer platform. Though items are most often listed in one size only (as to be expected when you’re borrowing from individual users), this is one of the only sites where Louboutins and other designer shoes are on offer.

Happily Ever Borrowed

Accessories are the name of the game at this longtime bridal favorite. Edie Parker acrylic clutches, Twigs & Honey hair vines, Elizabeth Bower earrings … HBE has it all, from jewelry to veils, and they’ve conveniently organized it by style — classic, romantic, boho, etc. — to make browsing easy.

This secret industry resource is a go-to for ethereal gowns for styled shoots. While the site restricts rentals for actual weddings and events, engagement sessions still fall under the realm of acceptable use, so go forth and dress as dreamy as you like. Just note that most gowns are vintage, delicate, and model sample size.

Little Things Borrowed

This two-year-old East Coast e-shop specializes in veils — everything from simple birdcages to embellished cathedrals — and hair pieces. (Think jewel-encrusted combs and even full-on crowns.) Not to worry — they sterilize the pieces after each use.

Want earrings like the ones Kate Middleton wore to wed Prince William? Or maybe you’re after a diamond necklace to drape across your décolletage à la Elizabeth Taylor. Adorn lends out real-deal rocks for up to six days at a time — with insurance baked into the cost — so you can sparkle without the added worry of a bodyguard.
