When it comes to your wedding, every element is important. But the thing that really sets the mood of the party is, of course, the tunes. Whether you want Frank Sinatra classics or nonstop Justin Bieber dance hits, the music you hear should be emblematic of you and your partner. Which is where our list of top-notch wedding DJs in the Philadelphia area comes in.

BVT! Live

114 Commons Court, Chadds Ford.


Not only is BVT home to some of Philly’s most popular dance bands, they also staff a variety of live wedding DJs, ensembles, and duos for ceremonies, cocktail hours, and receptions. BVT native and local favorite, Jelly Roll dance band has performed at the White House, many a black a gala and even at the 2016 Democratic National Convention that was hosted right here in Philadelphia.  Other popular acts include City Rhythm and DJs like DJ Gaetano and DJ Pat. While BVT prides themselves on their live bands, they understand this isn’t always budget friendly. They work closely with couples to blend the work of their favorite DJs and bands to bring you the charm of a live band at a lower cost. Still unsure? EBE Talent

With over 2,000 events each year and 1,200+ five star ratings on WeddingWire, EBE knows how to throw a party. They staff 16 different live bands and 38 wedding DJs. EBE trains everyone of their acts to the same standard, making it hard to pick a favorite. EBE has even hosted events featured on TLC shows such as Say Yes to the Dress, Four Weddings, and Cake Boss. Mole Street Artists

1538 Pine Street, Rittenhouse. 

From classical harpists to folk bands, Mole Street has it all. With an impressive lineup of bands and DJ’s from nearly every genre you can tell this company was founded by two musicians. Co-founders Brian LaPann and Brendan Walsh have been working since 2011 to elevate live event entertainment. What began as a Philly based endeavour spread nationally, Mole Street now plays at events across New York City, D.C., and Los Angeles.  Some of Mole Street’s favorites include The York Street Hustle, The Philadelphia String Quartet, DJ Adrian Hardy, and DJ Sabeel Chohen. Jon Ardito Entertainment

1933 East Cumberland Street, Fishtown. 

This Fishtown-based, all-in-one entertainment company is your one stop shop for all things sound, production, and lighting. Taking inspiration from the rich musical history of Philadelphia, JAE has staffed some of the city’s most diverse musical acts from swing bands, to DJS, and even steel drums. Just this year, JAE played a benefit at Reading Terminal Market attended by Philadelphia Eagle Jason Kelce. They are also home to a horn section that has worked with acts like Aretha Franklin and Ronnie Spector. JAE favorites include Soul City Shakedown and DJ Joel. East Coast Entertainment (ECE)

923 Haddonfield Road, Cherry Hill.

With 40 years of experience in Philly alone, ECE has curated an extensive database of talent including string quartets, dance bands, and DJs. In addition to their standard lineup of wedding talent, ECE also offers a number of tribute bands paying homage to legends like The Beatles, Billy Joel, and The Rolling Stones.  ECE favorites  includes bands like Blue Label, Modern Luxe, DJ Shelly, and Philly’s Finest. DJ Shelly has worked with clients like Bare Minerals and the Philadelphia Flyers and sometimes travels as far as Las Vegas for performances. DJ Ravi Jackson

1010 Hancock Street, Northern Liberties. 

As Philadelphia’s most experienced Indian wedding reception specialists, DJ Jackson is a pro at bringing together a diverse range of styles to get the party started. For DJ Jackson, DJing began as a hobby and quickly turned into a passion.  He has since turned his love for music into various radio shows, being one of the only DJ’s to bring the sounds of India to the airwaves of Philadelphia, and later into a full service sound and entertainment company. Scratch Weddings

This music and tech company specializes in providing the area’s hottest DJs for your Big Day. Co-founded by Jam Master Jay of Run DMC and sister company to Scratch DJ Academy in New York City (which has made a number of appearances of NBC’s Ellen show), you can rest assured that Scratch will take care of every last detail as far as the music is concerned. Scratch DJs have performed events like Made in America, and iHeartRadio Music Festivals as well as corporate events for companies like Nordstrom and and Macy’s. Lovesick

For more than a decade, Lovesick has work to bring the vision of Philly area couples to life. From a roster of DJs, photographers, and videographers, Lovesick has got it all. As a small business, the DJs behind Lovesick have time to work with you find out who you are as a couple, musically that is, to curate the perfect playlist. They even provide a list of ideas to get you started and a section of songs to stay away from. Want to get a feel for more of their work? Blue Root Entertainment

Blue Root specializes in wedding DJs and MCs for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. From the first phone call to you last dance, they focus on making customer service a top priority to help take one thing off your long list of wedding to do’s. DJs at Blue Root have hosted high profile events at the Downtown Club as well as Water Works in Fairmount so you know you are getting quality tunes. Head DJ and MC, Cleveland, combines his years of industry experience and passion for music to get you guests up and dancing all night light.  Pricing for ceremony music starts at $300 with reception music starting at $1400.

DJ David Atlas

Formerly known as “DJ Scopitone’s Talking Machine”, DJ David Atlas specializes in early 20th century recordings from ragtime, to “hot jazz”, and even novelties. With an extensive collection of records and gramophones, his tunes are perfect for listening or dancing, no matter what vibe your going for. DJ Atlas has been the musical guest at the Eastern State Penitentiary for the last few years as well spun tunes for a   variety of weddings and private events. Remixologists

New York City
Although they are based in NYC they are always bringing the party to the Philly area. (One of their popular acts is DJ Ben Coleman, also known as Benjastyles, who was recently nominated for the Global Spin Award, up against big names like DJ Snake and Diplo.) That’s all to say, the Remixologists have a variety of talent who will match the vibe and energy level of your guests and mix it up every time.
