I have to say, I have seen quite a few different ways that couples have honored friends and and relatives they’d lost in their wedding days, and they’re all so nice—pictures and beautiful tributes on programs, dedicated songs, keepsakes tucked into bouquets. I know one lovely lady who walked down the aisle by herself in order to leave open that space beside her where her late father would have been.

But it’s one of those things where I find people are always looking for creative, thoughtful ways to include their late loved ones in their wedding day, and this roundup on HuffPo has some seriously excellent ideas: I literally teared up at the ties, the note in the dress, the blue shirt heart and the wedding-ring bracelet, specifically, and I don’t even know these backstories!

Keeping close someone you love who’s no longer there with the perfect inclusion, keepsake or tribute is a great way to feel them with you on your wedding day. If you’ve seen any other lovely ideas or are planning on any yourself, leave them in them in the comments.
