Here Are Some Helpful Dos and Don'ts For Wedding-Dress Shopping

Jack Hollingsworth

We saw this list of wedding dress-shopping dos and don’ts today, and thought we’d share for all of our recently engaged brides out there who haven’t started their dress hunt yet. Because, believe it or not, there are actually a few more things to think about on this particular shopping trip then there are when you’ve decided you need a new pair of perfectly skinny jeans.

It’s a great list—we will extra emphasize and get behind the points about not worrying about what’s trendy when it comes to picking your wedding dress (keep repeating this to yourself, please: classic and timeless, classic and timeless) and not bringing a huge entourage along on your shopping trips (remember Stephanie’s advice once her gown hunt was all said and done?)—and add on another of our own: Trust your consultant! You may be gung ho on A-line, but she has seen a million girls with your body before. If she really thinks you would hit it out of the park in a mermaid, then at least try it on. Seriously.

Anyone else have any major tips for your dress-shopping fellow brides after having gone through the whole process yourself?
