Bride-to-be Blogger Kathleen: My 30th Birthday Surprise Party!

I have the best future husband in the world: Although our lives have been super crazy and bogged down with wedding “responsibilities” lately, my loving fiancé took the time to plan a surprise 30th birthday party for me last weekend.

It was amazing to see him take the time to focus on my personal milestone in the midst of all of the wedding craziness. Although, I think it was a blessing in disguise for him that I have been so preoccupied with wedding brain—I didn’t even have time to suspect the possibility of a surprise party! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I can’t wait until next week when we become husband and wife! Oh, right, one week left!

So with one week to go, I plan on spending my time speaking one-on-one with Mother Nature. Our ceremony will be outside, and because the venue is so amazingly beautiful, it will be a shame to not be able to use the outdoor space. I know there is nothing I can do about the weather, but if Mother Nature appreciates the fact that I break for squirrels and recycle glass and plastic by giving us a beautiful day, I will be extremely grateful!

What sort of promises and negotiations have you made with Mother Nature about your outdoor wedding?
