Woman’s Body Found Handcuffed, Stabbed in Fairmount Park

Update: Police are hoping a couple of tattoos can help them to identify a young woman who was found brutally murdered in Fairmount Park early Tuesday morning.

 

Philadelphia police found the body of a woman in Fairmount Park Tuesday morning.

The victim, who was found near a wooded area on Georges Hill Drive near the Mann Center, was face down and handcuffed, with a stab wound to her upper left torso, according to police. She was pronounced dead at 8:30 a.m. and no weapon has been recovered. 

She is being identified as a black woman in her mid 20s.

No additional information has been released. Police are on the scene and the homicide unit is investigating.

Captain James Clark of the Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit will hold a press conference about the gruesome discovery at 2:30 p.m.
