Armed Robbery at Spring Garden Sandwich Shop
The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a masked man who was caught on video robbing a local sandwich shop at gunpoint.
The armed robbery occurred on Tuesday, September 1st at 9:50 p.m. at the Subway located at 529 Spring Garden Street, about a block from popular bar-restaurant Silk City and just down the road from police headquarters.
According to police, the masked man pulled out a gun and strolled behind the counter, taking $300 from the cash register. Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incident. Watch the full video below.
Police describe the suspect as follows: “Black male, dark complexion, red T- Shirt or scarf around his face. Black shirt and black jeans 5’10” to 6’0 tall, medium build.” The gun is described just as a black handgun.
