The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify this fellow, who recently burglarized Mrs. K’s Restaurant, a small lunch counter type of place, in Old City adjacent to Stephen Starr’s Buddakan.

On Friday morning, an employee arrived to open the restaurant and found that the front door was already open. Surveillance video shows the man seen here pulling up in a white car around 3:17 a.m. and then opening Mrs. K’s front door using a key.

According to police, the suspect then managed to remove a cash register drawer, which he brought to his car and then came back inside the restaurant to get another one. But the second cash register drawer proved too difficult an opponent for the burglar.

He gets a definite “A” for effort, but, in the end, he was unsuccessful where the second drawer is concerned.

Police describe the suspect and his vehicle as follows: “White male, 20-30 years-of-age, thin build, short dark hair, with a tattoo sleeve and several tattoos on his left arm and a tattoo on the inside of his right forearm, wearing a white hat with NY on it, yellow shirt, tan calf-length shorts and Nike sneakers and operating a white sedan (4 door) possibly with tinted windows.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Central Detectives at 215-686-3243. Watch the full surveillance video below.
