[Update 2:40 p.m.] Here’s the mugshot of the suspect, Darian Person, in Monday’s killing:

6ABC reports:

Darian Person, 19, of Rowan Street, is being sought in the shooting that happened on Monday afternoon. Police say the fight began in the area of Broad and Olney near Einstein Medical Center.

Philadelphia Police Captain James Clark said during a news conference on Tuesday that it all began when a group of 20 to 30 young people, many from the nearby Delaware Valley Charter High School agreed to meet for a fight.

“People from school then starting bringing friends from the neighborhood to the school,” Clark said. When describing Person, Clark said “He was brought as the muscle. He came with a gun and, unfortunately, he used it.”

[Original]6ABC reports that authorities have identified the 15-year-old girl shot and killed Monday outside Einstein Medical. Aisha Abdur Rhaman was a 10th-grader at Delaware Valley Charter High School.

The school released the following statement Tuesday morning:

We are deeply grieved by the loss of Aisha Abdur Rhaman, who was a tenth grade student at the Delaware Valley Charter High School. From what we understand, Aisha was killed by a stray bullet after school hours at a location off school property, making her another victim of the senseless violence with which this city has become all too familiar. Aisha was a bright, cheerful, and energetic young lady and will be deeply missed. Our prayers are with her family. We are offering grief counseling services to our students, teachers, and staff.

Another victim, a 19-year-old male, remains hospitalized from wounds suffered in the attack.

CBS Philly describes the crime:

It happened just after 4 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Investigators say the incident began when a crowd of more than 50 teenagers, many of them students, began fighting at the Transportation Center, then headed south on Broad Street and Old York Road where the shootings took place.

Police sources tell CBS 3 Eyewitness News they believe the violence is in retaliation for previous fight in which a young woman was beaten.

Authorities says video cameras at the scene should reveal the identity of the killer.
