Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding *Will* Continue Despite Gov’t Shutdown
A silver lining to the doom and gloom.
The Liberty Bell may be going dormant tomorrow, but post Hurricane Sandy beach-building will resume. Glad the government has some priorities straight. From the AP:
“Ed Voigt, a spokesman for the Corps’ Philadelphia office, said Monday that dredging and dune rebuilding projects are already funded and the contractors will keep working. Voigt said the federal employees who oversee the contracts are considered essential and won’t be told to stay home if the government closes amid a dispute over funding for President Barack Obama’s health insurance overhaul.”
The Corps’s work is supposed to be finished in November of next year.
