NFL’s Bernard Pierce Carjacked in Philly
Baltimore Ravens running back Bernard Pierce is “doing OK” after he was the victim of a carjacking in Philadelphia last Sunday, his agent told USA TODAY Sports.
CBS 3 in Philadelphia, citing sources, first reportedthat Pierce had been robbed at gunpoint.
“It’s just an unfortunate situation. He was just home after minicamp, in a good neighborhood, daylight. He was just grabbing a slice of pizza,” Pierce’s agent said. “They don’t know if it’s even NFL related. Might just be car related.”
CBS3 also reports on Pierce, an alumni of Temple University:
Pierce’s mother, Tammy Pierce, spoke to Eyewitness News about the incident involving her son.
“First of all, I thank God that he’s fine. I don’t care whatever he lost — his car, whatever was in there. He’s fine,” Pierce said. “I think he was targeted because people knew who he was, and that’s sad.”
Pierce, who is from Ardmore, was visiting his family. His mother said he had only been in town a week, and that he’d purchased the BMW two weeks ago. She also said that he’s now nervous and concerned for his safety.
