Former Philly Sportscaster Jenna Wolfe Comes Out as Gay

Amid the never-ending Matt Lauer hatefest, here’s some happier news from the Today show camp. Weekend anchor Jenna Wolfe is pregnant, and has also officially come out as gay. (Perhaps this week’s Supreme Court cases on DOMA and Prop 8 influenced her decision to go public.)

“This is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to us,” Wolfe told People magazine, whose exclusive interview with the couple hits newsstands on Friday. “But I don’t want to bring my daughter into a world where I’m not comfortable telling everyone who I am and who her mother is.”

The Daily News called up a former Fox 29 sports directer Don Tollefson, an ex-boyfriend from her days at WB 17, presumably to ask the inevitable: Did you know? question. He hinted at it, saying: I always said to her, ‘Be yourself because to be yourself is so appealing to people.’ She’s obviously taken that and run with it.” Her partner, Stephanie Gosk, is an NBC News correspondent.
