Florida Org Has Apparently Never Heard of the MOVE Bombing

If you’re going to hold your conference in Philadelphia, may we suggest not naming it MOVE? Press release follows.

Melbourne, FL – September 26, 2012 – Florida based non-profit To Write Love on Her Arms will be holding their MOVE Community Conference in Philadelphia from October 19 – 20. The MOVE Community Conference is a two-day in-depth, engaging workshop held in an effort to begin a conversation about issues that are often left in the dark (depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide).

The goal of the conference is to battle stigma and shame with honesty and compassion. Licensed professional counselors lead a discussion in exploration of what is behind these struggles, what drives them, what recovery looks like, and how people can make a difference.

MOVE is for people looking for a way to engage others in conversations about topics that are serious issues in our society. The conferences are designed to bring together the diverse voices of the community, including parents, college students, business leaders, and educators. The goal is to create a culture and climate of hope and healing for those struggling in our homes, places of work, and schools.

The conference cost ($125) and application are due by October 10.
