Wildwood Preps for Chesney. Kenny Chesney-themed drink specials, a four-story stage, $75 “VIP” tickets to stand 2,000 feet away at the Splash Zone Waterpark, and the director of Silence of the Lambs are proof that Wildwood has gone crazy preparing for tonight’s free Kenny Chesney concert. Phillies Beat the Rockies. They’re eight games back. Howard, Utley and Halladay are on the shelf. Galvis has been suspended for 50 games (and has a broken back). Cliff Lee is winless. Pence went 0-4 and left five men on base last night. Stutes and Herndon are probably headed for surgery. The team traded away all its prospects except for Dom Brown—who is injured and hitting .266 and has committed six errors in the minors—and a guy known as DJ Hey Beef that has a side gig spinning electronic dance records. But, Hamels was on the mound and the Phils beat the Rockies (25-41, 1-9 in their last 10 games) at home on a Tuesday in June, so everything is going to be just fine. [Phillies]
