SEPTA Tokens Are Inconvenient and Other Commuter Survey Results

An online Harris International survey shows that approximately 1/3 of commuters who have to pay cash fares have, at some point, been unable to take public transit because they didn’t have enough cash on-hand. Additionally, nearly 2/3 of them reported feeling frustrated while worrying about whether or not they had enough cash to take trains or buses and 44 percent of them reported missing a train or bus while adding money to a fare card or purchasing a new ticket for their trip. So, in case you missed all of that, SEPTA tokens are entirely inconvenient and Philadelphians can only dream of the day when (like PATCO riders) they can commute via a contactless card instead of carnival tickets and arcade tokens.
