HRC’s Philly Family Day

A special event this weekend in Plymouth Meeting

UPDATE: Due to the weather that will be reaching our region this weekend, HRC Greater Philadelphia regrets to announce that the Family Day event will be postponed at this time. We thank every one of our volunteers, special guests, and sponsors for all of the support you have given in organizing this event. This has shown us that we have the ability to bring together vast diversity with equality as a common goal. Your contributions have been invaluable and we hope that you will consider being a part of the “Family Fall Festival” that will be scheduled in lieu of the August event. Although we are sad that the weather will affect this weekend, we do anticipate a bigger and better event in the Fall. Thank you for your understanding and please stay tuned for new information to come. Please contact us at hrcphillyfamilyday@gmail.com for any specific questions you may have. Wishing you all a wonderful and safe weekend.

The HRC is celebrating families this weekend (Aug. 27 from 1 – 4:30 p.m.) at the Plymouth Meeting Friends School. LGBT and straight friends are invited to the afternoon event (tickets are $5 per person or $15 for a family of three or more). Each ticket includes a membership to the organization. All activities and food items are included in the ticket price.

The afternoon will include games, arts and crafts, food, and entertainment, says HRC. Children (17 and younger) will also have the chance to perform in a talent show and learn some serious soccer skills with the Philadelphia Falcons.

To participate in the talent show and soccer activities, HRC is asking parents to register in advance (HRCPhillyFamilyDay@gmail.com). Just email them with the child’s name, age and talent description. Interested families will receive a detailed email this week.
