Chesco Chemical Fire Under Control

Hydrogen fire at a plant in Chester County is under control

Earlier today fire fighters responded to a chemical blaze at the Johnson Matthey Co. plant in West Whiteland Township. It took a few hours—and three fire companies—but the flames have been controlled. The plant and a group of homes in the surrounding area were evacuated while fire fighters doused neighboring tubes of hydrogen in water so that the flames wouldn’t spread. [Inquirer]
