Everybody’s Irish Today

Where to celebrate in your finest LGBT green

As the world wakes up to revelers who are already topping the morning off with gallons of green beer, rest assured that there a few ways to get your Irish on this St. Patrick’s Day. If you’ve managed to avoid the drunken bus tours last week, then you may be ready to gayly celebrate, that is, until you think you see a lot of little leprechauns running around. Here’s what happening.

The Beagle Tavern in Norristown is turning all kinds of green with fish and chips and other dinner and drink specials starting at 11 a.m. Seven bucks even gets you an authentic ham and cabbage dinner.

Lesbians, don’t fret if you don’t have a date on this St. Patty’s Day. You can always get to sapphic speed dating at Grey Social Bar & Lounge (7-10 p.m.). Speed Date Philadelphia is hosting a girl-on-girl session for ladies ages 24 to 37.

The Fruit Loop is getting in on the action with Irish festivities at Woody’s and Sisters. Also look for the green brigade to hit up the bars on Camac Street – Venture, Uncles and Westbury are great choices for lifting a few (they have jukeboxes). If music’s your thing, then head over to Tavern on Camac‘s piano bar. If you throw some green into the tip jar you may even hear some live Irish songs.

If you find yourself on the other side of the river, Club In or Out in Hammonton, N.J., gets its St. Patrick’s Day party started at 6 p.m. with drink specials, music and absolutely no cover.
