Dining Out: Where Were Eating: The Silverspoon
It’s a family affair at this Main Line BYOB — Mom and Pop Silverberg run the front of the house, while son Ron is in the kitchen. The decor says French bistro (pale yellow walls, pressed-tin ceiling, hanging copper pots), but the menu boasts “contemporary American cuisine,” and the eager servers are quick to assure you of the freshness and deliciousness of all the dishes. While a $28 seared mahimahi entrée was served with a bright arugula pesto and a fresh cucumber salsa, the fish itself was overcooked. A sweet, velvety local-summer-squash-and-corn soup, though, was well-balanced with cumin-seasoned croutons and chili oil.
