Taste: Dining Out: Where We’re Eating: Franco’s Osteria

Franco’s Osteria  City Line

Just across the Falls Bridge from their previous venture, Franco’s Trattoria, restaurateur Franco Faggi and chef Luca Sena Jr. have opened this similarly named Italian spot. The menu is much the same as it was there: good-enough pastas and better seafood dishes, although a perfectly cooked lamb chop special was the highlight of our meal. Also new: thin-crust pies from the wood-fired pizza oven, which is at the center of the cavernous 175-seat space. Insider tip: The intimate outdoor terrace feels miles away from bustling City Avenue and is an ideal spot for summer happy hour (weekdays, 4:30 to 7 p.m.). 3900 City Avenue, 215-473-3900, francosteria.com.
