Pulse: Style Scene: Now Open: A New Home

East Passyunk residents get a shelter store to call their own.

Need more proof that South Philly is the hottest place to live? Stop by recently opened JimmyStyle, where owner Jimmy Contreras brings his keen eye for home decor and gifts to Passyunk Ave. He’s packed the narrow space with an eclectic mix of small furniture and home doodads (think beauty products, greeting cards, candles) from national brands like Vie Luxe and local artisans like Duross & Langel. And while Jimmy’s got love for all things lush, you’ll find a nice range of price points and styles here, from a reupholstered flea-market chair to Jonathan Adler vases to Naturally Nora cake mix. There’s also a baby corner featuring onesies, books and stuffed animals, and fresh-cut flowers for sale daily. 1820 East Passyunk Avenue, 267-239-0598, shopjimmystyle.com

Also just opened  You don’t have to be getting married to take advantage of Pressed 55’s amazing on-premise letterpress and design services. From its compact Northern Liberties gallery, this design boutique — a division of Wayne’s popular Two Paper Dolls—is turning out so much more than just pretty invites. There are journals, business cards and gift cards — and artists and agencies can even have pre-designed jobs converted to beautiful letterpress, printed on soft, rich surfaces like cotton, linen or even wood-grain. But they do make an awfully pretty invite, too. 1050 North Hancock Street, 267-455-0483, pressed55.com
