AC Now: Luxuries: The Pool at Harrah’s

Poolside mojitos and cabana massages in January, anyone? Harrah’s nearly new 172,000-square-foot, for-guests-only pool — enclosed by a 90-foot glass dome — has one objective: Make summer endless. Servers wear teeny-weeny bikinis. Lifeguards sport Baywatch-red trunks. Palm trees sway (sort of). The thermostat reads a steady 78-80˚ Fahrenheit. And, if you’re lucky, the boys from Entourage happen to be hanging out in the shallow end.

All this aside, the main attraction is the center pool, with its 86,000 gallons of heated water, endless lounge chairs, full-service bar, dozen private cabanas — with iPod docking stations, plasma TVs and private hot tubs, nonetheless — seven Jacuzzis, and various “party tubs” and “wading” areas. What else? By day, the adjacent Red Door Spa offers treatments poolside. At night, fountains and neon lights provide extra glitz, and dimmed lights and DJs add adrenaline.
