Forget about booking this summer's family vacation to the Caribbean. On June 16th, the Philadelphia Multi-Cultural Carnival Association is bringing every ounce of island flavor to Philly, including steel drums and, without question, costumed masqueraders.

Carnival-goers can expect the Parade of Bands, authentic Caribbean foods, island-inspired arts and crafts, and kids' activities such as carnival mask making and face painting. This is more than just an island-themed block party, however — it's educational, too. But, shhh, we won't let that spoil the party.
