Another Parks on Tap, But on the Schuylkill

The not-so-mobile-anymore beer garden is launching a second location at the Water Works overlooking the Schuylkill River and Boathouse Row.

Parks on Tap is doing things a little differently this year. Instead of the traveling carnival model of pre-COVID yesteryear, FCM Hospitality’s Avram Hornik decided that it’s probably best to lock his roaming park beer garden into a single space for the entire season. Currently, there’s a Parks on Tap operating at the Fairmount Park Horticultural Center at 100 North Horticultural Drive. Starting tomorrow, July 8th, we’ll have another one at the Water Works space (640 Waterworks Drive) overlooking the Schuylkill River and Boathouse Row.

Same deal as at Horticultural Center version. Same health and safety protocols: additional cleaning measures, ability for contact tracing, and other procedures as prescribed by the City of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania. Same family-friendly/dog-friendly vibes. Same layout: self-contained within roped boundaries, bathrooms, food and drink trucks, seating, shade and lights — all without use or dependency of existing park facilities.

It’ll go Monday to Friday, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 10 p.m. A daily digital sign-in is required, and it’s all pay as you go.
