The Post in UCity Adds New Menus, Tries to Avoid Legal Snafu This Time
Lunch and brunch debut soon at the new University City beer bar — and they've renamed their controversial Boomin' Onion.

The Post, a new beer bar-slash-arcade in University City’s Cira Garage, made headlines when it received a cease and desist letter a mere three days after it opened. The reason? The owners of Outback Steakhouse took issue with one of their menu items, a deep-fried bar snack called the Boomin’ Onion that hit a little too close to home for the Aussie-inspired chain.
In response, the Post ran a social media contest to rename the dish (it’s now called the Jawnion, which I think we can all agree is much better). And now, they’re preparing to roll out full lunch and brunch service in the coming weeks.
Lunch will kick off on Monday, February 11th, with brunch service to follow on Saturday, February 23rd. Hours for lunch are 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on weekdays, with brunch available from 11:30 a.m. until 3 .m. on Saturdays only to start. Check out opening lunch and brunch menus for the Post below.
