South Philly Barbacoa Offering Tortas This Friday Evening

South Philly Barbacoa is serving tortas this Friday evening.

With their storefront opening, South Philly Barbacoa will host the first of what they plan to be monthly (or bi-monthly) dinner events this Friday. The events will feature artists and food. First up is Isaiah Zagar and street artist Air Rat.

And yes, this event is set for when you’re done with work for the day, and when you’re ready for dinner nosh, so capitalize on this event from 6 – 9 PM, and head to South Philly Barbacoa. They will be offering any of three different tortas at $5 a piece (no vegetarian options, though). Martinez has spent the past three weeks perfecting her baking of telera, the traditional bread for torta-making, and now is the time to give them a test-run. Even better: bring a couple of beers, since the event is BYOB.

In between tortas, chat with Zagar and Air Rat, who collaborated in designing the front of the building. Then grab another torta. Then a third.
