Some cheese to go with your cheese at Di Bruno Bros.

To all our dear, cheese-loving readers, we’ve got some excellent news for you.

Because we think you like us, and because we know we love you, there’s a gift at the end of this post, so mark down June 25th in your iCal and read on…

This Thursday is Di Bruno Bros. next event in their Legends Series: a “world tour” of cheese guided by six European cheese makers as well as Marc Vetri and Herb Eckhouse of La Quercia in Iowa.

From 6:30-8:30 PM, the cheese experts (listed below) will lead you through rotating demo stations showcasing cheeses from around the world. If you need a momentary dairy break (though, really, you should be well-trained for this sort of consumption by now), Vetri will be serving hand-crafted pasta and Eckhouse will be carving his Berkshire prosciutto to order. If that’s not enough, there’s another station from chef James Liuzza (of Di Bruno Bros.) that will feature dishes such as his Duck Lovers Pizza and his Wild Weide Grilled Cheese, with roasted hazelnut butter and green zebra tomato gazpacho.

Cheese stations and experts will include:

Stacey Hedges of Tunworth cheeses (United Kingdom)

Todd & Maugan Trethowan of Gorwydd Caerphilly cheeses (United Kingdom)

Betty Koster of L’Amuse Signature Gouda (Holland)

Phillipe Goux of Marcel Petit Fort St. Antoine Comté (France)

Giorgio Cravero of Cravero Parmigiano Reggiano (Italy)

José Luis Martín of 1605 Manchego (Spain)

And what would an event be without a beer pairing? The entire menu will be complemented with sips from Brooklyn Brewery.

Since you are all committed readers and have already scrolled this far down, here’s the most exciting bit:

Tickets are usually $75 per person for the event, but we’ve partnered with Di Bruno Bros. to offer our readers a $10 discount. Use code “FOOBOOZ” at checkout when you purchase your tickets.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Daphne Zepos Teaching Award (which supports American cheese experts, meaning it really just comes back around to providing even more awesome cheese for you).
