Tonight: Illegal Mezcal Tasting at Petruce et al
As they say in Mexico, “para todo mal, mezcal, y para todo bien también” (for everything bad, mezcal, and for everything good as well.)
For those of you who don’t know what mezcal is, it’s a liquor made from the maguey plant (a form of agave) that is native to Mexico. If that sounds like tequila to you then you’re sort of right: all tequila is a version of mezcal, but not all mezcal is tequila (the same way that all scotch is whiskey but not all whiskey is scotch).
You can sample both Joven and Reposado Mezcals tonight, as well as Petruce’s “Citywide” with a shot of Joven and a Natural cider.
