There are only a few foods that one can happily eat for every meal and pancakes are one of them. Maybe it’s because lasagna for breakfast doesn’t flow as well, but pancakes for dinner is never a bad idea. No matter what time it is, pancakes can always be the answer to the question of “What would make me happy right now?” And here’s a list of some of our favorite spots to get the hot and fluffy dish.

Ardmore Station Cafe
Though this breakfast spot doesn’t look like much from the outside, one whiff of the inside and you’ll be hooked. A favorite for Main Liners, the place is usually packed on the weekend – possibly a result of the Oreo or Reese’s stuffed pancakes. But the creations don’t end there. In fact, Ardmore Station offers up 6 other options (not including specials), making it a mecca for pancake lovers.

Talula’s Garden
The scenery alone is enough to make you fall in love with the Washington Square restaurant. The good pancakes are just an added bonus. Though pricier than your average flapjack, Talula’s incorporates some seriously high-quality ingredients into their pancakes, making everything taste that much sweeter.

Grubhouse
Arguably the best mash-up since peanut butter and jelly, Bacon Cakes are exactly what they sound like: pancakes with pieces of bacon cooked right in the batter. Awarded “Best Hangover Cure” by Philly Mag, it won’t take a fuzzy morning for you to appreciate this meal.

Honey’s Sit N’ Eat
Who doesn’t want to eat a pancake the size of their face? Despite the long line you’ll face if you go on the weekends (try during the week for a shorter wait time), Honey’s makes it worth it. And if you go before 9 a.m., you can get a short stack with morning meat and a coffee for $4.95.

Jerry’s Bar

Forget Cherry & Rhubarb Pie and instead, welcome Cherry & Rhubarb Pancakes with open arms and an open stomach. Jerry’s Bar, which just won “Best City Breakfast” for Best of Philly, offers the sweet creation in addition to the classic. And if you can’t decide, who says two orders of pancakes is so bad? Besides, maybe, your doctor.

Sabrina’s Cafe
Stop by Sabrina’s for a no-frill, extra-fluffed order of pancakes, and as much as I could fluff them up (no pun intended) for you, here’s all you need to know: Sabrina’s pancakes are delicious. So delicious that licking the plate clean seems like an acceptable option.
