Atlantic City’s Irish Pub is closed for the first time since Hurricane Sandy after an SUV rammed through the front of the 24-hour bar on Sunday afternoon. A fifty-year old Pleasantville man has been charged with DWI in connection with the accident.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, the driver of the SUV was refused service around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. After using the restroom, he reportedly smiled, waved and left the building. Surveillance footage spotted the man getting into his car and looping around the parking lot across the street before colliding with the front wall of the bar. A spokesperson for the Atlantic City Police said the driver was dazed and asked, “did I do that?”

UPDATE: The Atlantic City landmark will reopen Thursday, January 3th at 11:30 a.m.
