Manayunk Brewing Co. Plans an Expansion

Not only are new breweries and brew pubs popping up all over the region, old stalwarts are looking to expand. Manayunk Brewing Company is celebrating its 17th anniversary this month and will be embarking on an ambitious expansion plan to bring brewing capacity from 1,800 barrels annually, to more than 4,000 barrels a year by  2015.

Manayunk Brewing’s beers have been really hitting their stride recently. The canned versions of Schuylkill Punch and Yunkin’ Punkin’ have been especially well received. Next up in cans is Manayunk’s holiday brew, Festivus.

The brewery is working around the clock now to satisfy in-house and external demands for beer as production will have to stop for several weeks during the end of the year expansion.

To celebrate seventeen years and surviving eight major floods, while brewing 459 styles of beer, Manayunk Brewing Company is offering signature dishes from menus of years past from Thursday, October 17th to Saturday, October 19th.

For $17, guests can choose the house-smoked ribs or cedar plank salmon along with a pint of Schuylkill Punch of Bohemian Blonde. All customers over the three days will also receive a slice of birthday cake.
