Tonight: Wine on Tap (And Free Snacks) At Le Virtu

So who’s ready for some wine on tap?

Starting tonight, Le Virtu will be filling glasses from the two brand new taps installed behind the bar by owners Cathy Lee and Francis Cratil-Cretarola. This new system is allowed by a change in the local liquor laws that allow for kegged wines from outside of Pennsylvania, and the two wines filling the lines right now definitely come from out of the area code.

On one side, there’ll be a red nebbiolo-dolcetto-barbera blend from Piemonte. On the other, a white verdicchio-pinot grigio-malvasia blend from Le Marche. The bar will be pulling glasses of both of these for just $6, starting tonight and going through Friday. And in addition to the grape juice, chef Joe Cicala and his crew will also be giving away a variety of complimentary stuzzichini–which is Italian for free snacks and makes them sound way classier.

So as if you needed another reason to head down to East Passyunk, now you have one. We’ll see you at the bar.
